The Oaklands in Chester was a Design and Build Project for the locals division of Greene King. This was the third pilot site for a new concept design scheme we had been developing with Greene King.

The development brief was to radically transform the site and the clientele, improve the external appearance, and soften the interior as you first walk in. The exterior appearance was improved with new softer colours, a new signage scheme and lighting, a new external drinking area and a more welcoming entrance. Internally all of the raised floor areas were omitted to make the space feel far more open and inviting, with a new carvery unit being installed in a prime location. All of the pool tables and and darts areas were omitted and replaced with comfortable booth seating and dining covers. With the clever design of screens and wine walls, a large open space has been made to feel cosy and comfortable.
